Taiwan Approves Gambling in Resorts

In Taiwan, a debate has been going on inside of government for a while now. The end consensus is that casino gambling is something that could be beneficial and will soon be coming to the outer islands of Taiwan.

The Council for Economic Planning and Development has announced that they have recommended that casinos be brought to Taiwan. The economic impact of the decision will be great for the country.

In their report, the Council estimated that 5,000 jobs could be created from the casinos. In addition, another 15,000 temporary jobs will be created. The government has finally came to decision on the casinos after months of debate.

The one stipulation from the government is that all of the casino must be part of a resort. That will ensure the most possible job additions and also the maximum revenue.

The majority of people in Taiwan have been in favor of lifting the country's casino ban. The next step is for the government to officially legalize gambling, which would pave the way to begin planning for casinos in the outer islands.
