LONDON, England -- The Poker Channel, Europe's largest dedicated gaming TV network, announces new distribution agreements in Germany, Portugal, Poland, Cyprus and Croatia today, and its first
ever live horse-racing coverage.
From 1 June 2009 The Poker Channel will be available on cable TV in Cyprus (Cablenet) and Croatia (Bnet) for the first time and will expand on new platforms in Germany (Kabelkiosk), Poland (UPC), and Portugal (Clix). Following these agreements, the Poker Channel will reach approximately 17 million cable and satellite homes in 20 European markets.
The Poker Channel also announces its first ever live horse-racing coverage, which airs for one hour every evening from a selection of leading US racetracks including Philadelphia Park, Hawthorne and Tampa Bay. Racing coverage is broadcast live on the Channel in all markets except the UK and Ireland.
In response to viewer demand, Poker Channel broadcasts live coverage with studio commentary, betting tips and form guides from professionals, jockeys and trainers, with additional information on how to bet at www.pokerchanneleurope.com/horse-racing.
Chris White, Managing Director of The Poker Channel said, "We're delighted to announce these new distribution agreements, as we increase our investment in new programming. After poker, sports betting often tops the list of what our viewers want, so we're pleased to be able to offer live racing coverage at their request."
