Bodog Deals Billionth Hand

Monday, December 03, 2007

History was made at Bodog Poker Sunday night at exactly 9:36 p.m. when the online poker room dealt out its billionth hand. Nine players from nine U.S. states were at the table during the momentous
hand and they split the $10,000 prize. In addition, the players were each awarded $109 in tournament buy-ins.

Bodog founder Calvin Ayre called the milestone a "landmark event" on his personal blog and congratulated the winners as well as "all the people who work so hard to make Bodog the best poker room there is."

Bodog began promoting the billionth hand on Nov. 1 when, starting with hand 980,000,000, it awarded increasing money prizes for every five-millionth hand dealt. Players involved in these milestone hands also received $109 in tournament credits for use towards any Bodog tournament.

In addition, Bodog held a daily drawing from Nov. 5 to Nov. 26 with 10 players winning $50 each daily. Starting Nov. 5, once a player earned 100 Poker Points he was awarded an entry into the daily drawings for the rest of the promotion. And now that the billionth hand has been dealt, Bodog will select a grand prize winner to receive $12,000, paid out in the form of a $1,000 monthly bankroll for one full year.
