SugarHouse Casino Set to Open in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA -- SugarHouse Casino will open to the public on Sept. 23, 2010, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. The casino offered a media preview tour showing off the 45,000 square feet

  of gaming floor, 1600 slot machines and 40 live gambling tables, the report said. The casino will employ 800 people, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.  

Opening in September 2010, SugarHouse Casino will be the first casino located in the City of Philadelphia. From its home on North Delaware Avenue, the casino will be location on the Delaware River's waterfront. With nearby I-95 and I-76, and just a short cab ride from Philadelphia International Airport and 30th Street Station, visitors will have easy access to all that the casino offers.

A new addition to Philly's lively Fishtown neighborhood, SugarHouse Casino is located at the site of the former Jack Frost Sugar Refinery. The casino's property extends right up to the Delaware River and offers public green space and scenic pathways for running and biking. SugarHouse Casino is a short distance from many of Philadelphia's historic attractions, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.

This property will be open 24/7, and will provide free, on-site parking as well as valet service.
