LAS VEGAS, NV - Bret Michaels has long been known as the front man of rock band Poison for more than 22 years and released his first solo album back in 2003. Now, thanks in part to reality television
and the highest rated VH1 series “Rock of Love,” Michaels’ popularity has raised even more and he is being recognized for his solo career.
In 2008 Michaels won a BMI Award for “Go That Far” a single from his 2008 Rock My World. The album showcased Michaels’ solo tracks which were featured on “Rock of Love.” Michaels has also produced and written materials, and made appearances on tracks, for artists including Stevie Nicks, Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker.
Recently Michaels, who has lived with Type 1 diabetes since the age of six, appeared on “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” winning $250,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Michaels is currently filming “Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels” which finds the successful show hitting the road to experience life on tour.
