MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- As reported by The Day: "Gov. M. Jodi Rell and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation have agreed on a plan to limit smoking and its effects at Foxwoods Resort Casino
Foxwoods Casino Resort and MGM Grand at Foxwoods, the parties said Thursday.
"Rell has signed the agreement, and Michael Thomas, chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council, is expected to add his signature today, according to Lori Potter, a spokeswoman for the tribe.
"Word of the agreement comes as the General Assembly's Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee prepares to consider a bill calling for a total ban on smoking at the Foxwoods casinos and at Mohegan Sun by Oct. 1, 2011.
"The Mohegan Tribe, which owns Mohegan Sun, reached a smoking agreement with Rell in January..."
