Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.  The 66th Golden Globe Awards will air on Sunday January 11, 2009 from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Best Dramatic Actor

Sean Penn (+150), Mickey Rourke (+225), Frank Langella (+350), Brad Pitt (+500), Leonardo DiCaprio (+550)

Sean Penn is leading this race and is up for his portrayal of Harvey Milk, the San Francisco supervisor who was the first openly gay man voted into office in California, and who was shot dead in 1978.

Mickey Rourke, who's career was thought to be at end a few years ago, may win as a sentimental favorite.  His role as a broken down professional wrestler has been a favorite of many critics.

Best Dramatic Actress

Meryl Streep (+175), Kate Winslet (+250), Anne Hathaway (+250), Angelina Jolie (+500), Kristin Scott Thomas (+500)

Streep's role in the film 'Doubt' has her leading in this category.  Her portrayal of a conflicted nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him abusing a black student, is considered a tour de force.

Kate Winslet is also in contention with her film ‘Revolutionary Road' which centers on a disintegrating marriage in the suburbs of the 1950s.

Anne Hathaway is the dark horse with her performance in ‘Rachel Getting Married' which hasn't received the publicity of the other films.

Best Dramatic Film

Slumdog Millionaire (+Even), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (+250), Revolutionary Road (+350), Frost/Nixon (+500), The Reader (+800)

‘Slumdog Millionaire' is the expected critics choice and is the heavy favorite for Best Dramatic Film.  It tells the story of an impoverished Indian teen Jamal Malik, who becomes a contestant on the Hindi version of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire?", wins, and is then suspected of cheating.

Based on a story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' has been compared to ‘Forrest Gump' with Brad Pitt in the lead role.

Best Supporting Actor

Heath Ledger (-1000), The Field, i.e. any other actor (+500)

Ledger got tremendous reviews for his mesmerizing role as the Joker in ‘The Dark Knight'. After tragically passing last year, he's the sentimental pick and almost sure winner.

Philip Seymour Hoffman role as the priest in ‘Doubt' leads ‘The Field' category.

Best Supporting Actress

Penelope Cruz (-110), Kate Winslet (+200), Viola Davis (+300), Amy Adams (+800), Marisa Tomei (+800)

Cruz is the solid favorite for her role in ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona', while Winslet is being nominated in ‘The Reader' after getting a Best Dramatic Actress nomination in ‘Revolutionary Road'.

Tomei is getting support playing a vulnerable stripper in ‘The Wrestler', and is a compelling choice at these long-shot odds.
