ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "Gaming company Columbia Sussex has agreed to acquire Casino Queen Inc., which operates the Casino Queen Hotel & Casino,

"Casino Queen spokesman Ron O'Connor told the St. Louis Business Journal that the agreement to sell the company to Columbia Sussex of Fort Mitchell, Ky., was reached late Wednesday. He declined to disclose terms of the deal, which is pending approval from the Illinois Gaming Commission.
"Five local families own East St. Louis-based Casino Queen. They are the families of James Koman, president of the company's board; and board members Charles Bidwill III, Michael Gaughan, Timothy Rand and Patrick Kenny.
"The proposed sale of the Casino Queen comes as the company -- which generated revenue of $168 million in 2005 -- prepares to break ground on construction of a new casino as part of a three-phase, $150 million casino and hotel expansion project. The new facility which will replace the gambling boat, will be the first land-based casino in Illinois. It will sit on a barge floating in a moat…."
